Grana Padano and Parmigiano Reggiano are two cheese varieties which are protected and controlled by their relevant consortia. The consortium mark is fire branded on the rind only if the cheese meets with the strict production disciplinary foreseen by the consortium and only if it was made using the milk from the PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) areas declared by the European Union.
In the light of a continuous improvement of its products and of a more qualified service to its costumers, the company Saviola has been certifying every step of the way, from production to marketing since 1996.
The initial standard was the UNI EN ISO 9001 certification which, in the run of time, has been extended to all its business sectors and to all its production units, including processing, packaging and marketing for all its products. In order to make this framework more complete and to meet with the requirements by foreign costumers, the company applied for the BRC standard, obtained in 2004 and for the IFS standard, which the company was awarded the following year.
The company continuously commits itself to maintain the certification standards at their highest level so that the norms envisaged by the different standards can become an integral part of its business culture, thus enabling every sector of the company to reach the goal of high quality products and services.
